Commitment: The applicant has a personal relationship and commitment to Jesus Christ. His dedication to God is evident in every phase of his life - athletics, school church, social life, work and home. *
Enthusiasm: The applicant is enthusiastic about the task at hand. *
Fairness: The applicant has a sense of justice that causes him to treat others in such a way that no one is slighted or harmed. *
Responsibility: The applicant shows integrity and does what he says when others are depending on him. *
Submissiveness: The applicant is willing to follow the direction and leadership of those in authority over him. This includes parents, teachers, church leaders, and peers who have been placed in leadership positions. This submission is apparent even when the applicant may not fully agree with the one in authority. *
Stamina: The applicant has a high level of endurance, a resistance to easily becoming fatigued. He recognizes when he is becoming tired and will use opportunities to rest when they do not conflict with other responsibilities. *
Initiative: The applicant has the will and ability to be a self-starter. He does a job because he wants to and does not have to continually be pushed into it. *
Maturity: The applicant demonstrates maturity by making decisions that show an understanding of consequences not only to himself but to others. He shows evidence of Christian growth such as bearing fruit of the Spirit and a servant attitude. *
Unselfishness: The applicant has demonstrated a willingness to sacrifice personal interest for the sake of other individuals or a group. He is able to function as a part of a team, cooperating with others in a common task. *
Sensitivity: The applicant shows sensitivity to others, able to give comfort in time of sorrow and to encourage others. He recognizes when humor is appropriate and when it is not. *
Is the applicant capable of the job description?
  1. Submit to the leadership of the camp and program directors.
  2. Guide each camper in spiritual decisions and growth..
  3. Enforce safety and health regulations.
  4. Guide each camper in participation in all camp activities.
  5. Assist with program activities, working closely with the program director and senior leaders.
  6. Work closely with other junior counselors to develop a “team spirit,” including a week of junior counselor training.
